DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 4, 2016 Approximately 65 community members joined Florida Hospital HospiceCare for a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the newly-installed memorial brick garden at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center on March 29.
The memorial garden was funded by a generous bequest from Kate Sifton, and was named the Chris Steadman Memorial Walkway. When Sifton passed away in 2013, her will specified a gift in memory of her friend and former Florida Hospital HospiceCare patient, Chris Steadman.
This memorial brick garden serves as a place for patient families and friends to create a lasting legacy for their loved ones at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, said Bill Tol, Florida Hospital HospiceCare Foundation director.
For a donation of $250, a donor can engrave one of the 3,000 bricks in the walkway, with up to three lines of text in memory or in honor of someone.
These funds will help support the foundation for Florida Hospital HospiceCare, the areas only faith based, not-for-profit hospice organization accredited by The Joint Commission. To request an order form, call the Florida Hospital HospiceCare Foundation at Call386-586-4440.
