AdventHealth has named Justin Birmele as president/CEO of AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in northwest Georgia.
In this role, he will provide executive leadership for the strategic direction and operations for both facilities. Birmele will assume his new role on June 15 and will report to Isaac Sendros, president/CEO of AdventHealth Redmond and the AdventHealth Georgia market.
“Justin is known as a mission-driven leader who builds relationships and models our values,” said Sendros. “His track record of driving clinical excellence, guiding major growth plans and building a culture that is grounded in our mission make him the ideal leader to further our delivery of faith-based, whole-person care across the communities of northwest Georgia.”
Most recently, Birmele served as CEO of AdventHealth Winter Park where he led transformational growth, including projects like the 140-bed patient pavilion, 80,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Center for Health and Wellbeing, building of the new AdventHealth Winter Park emergency room, and, recently, 23,000-square-foot Cancer Institute.
Before his time at Winter Park, Birmele served in roles at AdventHealth Apopka and the performance improvement department for the Central Florida Division where he collaborated with senior leadership on projects related to medical staff processes, patient experience and quality.
“I feel blessed to join the teams at AdventHealth Gordon and Murray,” said Birmele. “These facilities have a strong reputation for delivering compassionate, whole-person care and I’m looking forward to working alongside the dedicated care teams who serve this community with excellence every day.”
Birmele received a bachelor’s in applied science and a master’s in healthcare administration. He has served on a variety of leadership advisory councils, is a long-standing member of Central Florida’s American College of Healthcare Executives and is a graduate of AdventHealth’s inaugural Chief Executive Leadership Program.
Birmele is also active in the community, serving on several boards including Seniors First (Meals on Wheels) and the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce.
