AdventHealth Dade City strives to live out our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ beyond the walls of our hospital. One such way is by working to improve the health of the communities we serve.
On May 18, AdventHealth Dade City organized a free physical event for more than 200 student athletes in East Pasco County. Students from local schools including Pasco High School, Zephyrhills High School, Pasco Middle School and Centennial Middle School received sports physicals that are required by the state of Florida for participation in school athletics.
Danielle Albritton, DO, and Mark Roque, APRN, from AdventHealth Medical Group, volunteered their time to assist with the medical screenings.
Other medical providers in attendance were AdventHealth Zephyrhills; PT Solutions; The Eye Clinic of Florida; Shauna DesChamps, APRN, from Munchkins Pediatrics; Sue Hinds, APRN, from Wee Care Clinic; Binu Jacob, MD, from Pasco Cardiology; Joel Knickerbocker, PT, from Pasco Rehabilitation; Joseph Nystrom, MD, from Zephyrhills Family Medicine; and Brett Scotch, DO, from Scotch Institute of ENT. Medical assistants and office personnel from AdventHealth Dade City and local medical offices also provided help.
“This annual sport physical event has become something we all look forward to at AdventHealth Dade City,” said Amanda Martin, MSN, APRN, the Administrative Director of Clinical Services at AdventHealth Dade City. The teamwork and collaboration between physicians, staff and local community partners is inspiring and tells a story of the hospital’s positive community impact. We wish our local student athletes luck next year both in the classroom and on the field.
