In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the 100 Women in Pink group at Friendship Baptist Church created a fundraiser to benefit breast cancer services at Gordon Hospital.
Led by Pauline Turner, the group raised money throughout the month of September and met their goal of $1,000. The 100 Women in Pink plan to hold this fundraiser annually.
Because my two sisters are breast cancer survivors, it was laid on my heart to start this fundraiser, said Pauline. It is important for us to do this for the community.
Wed like to thank the 100 Women in Pink of Friendship Baptist Church for their generous donation, said Lanell Jacobs, director of oncology services at Gordon Hospital. Their support means so much to us. We are extremely thankful for contributions like this from our community.
