Biography

Jacquelyn Nystrom, MD, MPH, FAAFP, embraces the relationship between body, mind and spirit. She accepts patients from newborn through adulthood and delights in growing along with the families she serves.

She feels she was called to the field of medicine to show people the love of God through the healing of their bodies, minds and spirits.

Dr. Nystrom is a board certified family medicine physician who specializes in women's and children's health care at AdventHealth Medical Group's family medicine practice in Lake Nona. She performs school, sports and employment physicals, treats minor injuries, conducts well-infant and well-child examinations and treats chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity and more.

She graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine, earned her master's degree from Emory's Rollins School of Public Health and completed her residency in family medicine at Florida Hospital (now AdventHealth) in Orlando.

During her residency, Dr. Nystrom was named Intern of the Year and earned the position of Chief Resident. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians, is a member of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and serves on the AdventHealth Physician Network Primary Care Committee.

Dr. Nystrom has served as Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine at St. Cloud Regional Hospital. Additionally, she has been a faculty member of the Florida State University Medical School since 2009. In 2020, Dr. Nystrom was awarded the prestigious degree of Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians, to recognize her community service and professional accomplishments.

In her downtime, Dr. Nystrom likes to "recharge" by running, cooking and reading historical fiction and children's books. She also finds great reward in teaching Sunday school and loves drinking coffee with friends.
