Biography

Desirae Friend, DO, MPH, is a family medicine physician who joined AdventHealth Medical Group’s dedicated team in Lake Mary from Wichita, Kansas, where she provided outpatient primary care for adults as well as children’s and women’s health services. An alumnus of the University of Florida where she majored in microbiology and cell science, she went on to earn a Master of Public Health at the University of South Florida followed by her medical degree at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She continued her training as part of the Ascension Via Christi Family Medicine Residency program, where she was named Chief Resident. She has served as a medical consultant for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She also served as medical director for the Women’s Recover Center and Options, both addiction rehabilitation programs in Wichita, KS. She speaks English, conversational Arabic and basic conversational Spanish.
