- Texas Health Huguley Hospital
Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South -- a joint venture between Texas Health Resources and AdventHealth -- received a 5-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the spring 2021 Overall Hospital Quality Star rating. CMS regularly rates more than 4,500 U.S. hospitals based on performance across various quality measures, such as treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates and safety of care. CMS designates star ratings based on a 1-5 scale.
“This is more than just an award. This 5-star rating is symbolic of the 5-star moments our physicians and team members create for our patients each day. I am proud to say 5-star care happens here,” said Penny Johnson, President and CEO of Texas Health Huguley Hospital.
The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating was developed as a tool for patients to use to make informed decisions about where they receive care. CMS designed the process for determining star ratings to include as many hospitals and as many measuring criteria as possible. Beginning in 2021, the star ratings measured five major groups – mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
