It takes a different kind of person to work in one of AdventHealth’s emergency rooms caring for people with a critical health issue, like a heart attack or stroke. The pace is fast with patients often requiring immediate decisions to keep them safe.
To help build a strong foundation for team members who want to work in the ER, AdventHealth created the Emergency Department Nursing Internship Program, or EDNIP for short. It is the largest of its kind within AdventHealth’s nationwide system and trains nurses to be emergency room nurses.
“It’s going to set a very good foundation of what I need to be an amazing nurse and take care of patients,” said nurse Jade Sears who is participating in the program.
