AdventHealth for Children unveiled a kid-sized “hospital,” the newest addition to the Children’s Safety Village of Central Florida’s miniature city designed to educate kids on pedestrian, fire and water safety.
Founded in 1994, the Children’s Safety Village includes paved streets, sidewalks, crosswalks, a functioning traffic life, a railroad crossing, and a child-sized Fire Safety House and a Water Safety Complex.
Each year, the Children’s Safety Village hosts about 8,000 children from schools, camps, scouts and community organizations from all over Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties for educational field trips on various safety topics including pedestrian safety, bike and helmet safety, water and fire safety and internet safety.
This latest investment from AdventHealth for Children underscores the health system’s commitment to keeping our community’s kids safe and healthy, joining other community agencies and sponsors who have constructed miniature buildings in support of the Children’s Safety Village mission to prevent childhood injuries through life-saving education.
