Jaimee Hulsey, RN, has been named AdventHealth Gordon’s latest DAISY Award recipient. This award is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the super-human tasks nurses perform every day.
Hulsey, a renal dialysis ICU nurse at AdventHealth Gordon, was nominated by a coworker who shared how Hulsey helped two patients find comfort during the COVID-19 surge in early 2022.
Hulsey told her coworker that the evening before, she found out that her patient’s husband was also a patient in the hospital. Hulsey brought the patient’s husband to the patient’s bedside to let the couple see each other. Hulsey knew how much this visit meant to the couple and took the time to bring them together.
“In the chaos of that day, it would have been so easy to not make that visit possible. I don't want it to go unnoticed that she is an amazing nurse and human. AdventHealth Gordon is lucky to have her on our team,” wrote Hulsey’s coworker in the nomination.
If you or a loved one have been a patient at AdventHealth Gordon and would like to nominate an extraordinary nurse for the DAISY Award, please call Call706-602-7800 x2258.
