Patients and the public are getting an up-close look at phase two of AdventHealth’s Innovation Tower.
AdventHealth Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation is the newest area to open – it started seeing patients in mid-November on the 9th floor. The space features a rehab track and therapy areas, and will later include a pitcher’s mound for rehab and training.
The facility already houses the Florida headquarters for Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and AdventHealth Imaging.
Innovation Tower is a focal point of the 172-acre Health Village campus in downtown Orlando. Once completed, the 12-story, 300,000-square-foot facility will serve as both a neuroscience and orthopedic hub in the AdventHealth network.
Orlando Neurosurgery is expected to open to patients by January. It will be the primary office for the practice, coordinating with other offices in Celebration, Tavares and Winter Garden.
An outpatient surgery center, AdventHealth the Center for Brain Health, and space for the AdventHealth Research Institute will all follow in 2023.
Orlando Neurosurgery’s Dr. Ravi Gandhi recently told the Orlando Business Journal having all those specialties under the same roof will provide both collaboration and training opportunities.
“That makes it attractive for good fellows. We want to train future spine surgeons and neurosurgeons, and we want to train people at the top of the field. Having all of that in one space enables that to happen.”
Innovation Tower is opening as U.S. News and World Report recently ranked AdventHealth’s neurology and orthopedic programs among the top in the nation.
