PALM COAST, Fla., April 18, 2016 On April 8, Florida Hospital Flagler hosted a flag raising ceremony in celebration of national Donate Life month.
Florida Hospital Flagler chaplain Edilson Goncalves opened the event with prayer and Florida Hospital Flagler chief operating officer JoAnne King shared a few words.
In our nation, there are approximately 122,000 people on a waiting list for an organ transplant, and of those, more than 1,000 under 10 years old, King said. With these people in mind, it is truly vital that we support this national health observance and help raise awareness about the life-changing impact organ donation can have.
All month long, Florida Hospital Flagler will continue honoring those who have saved lives through organ and tissue donation with a Donate Life table outside the cafe once a week to give others the opportunity to help save lives by signing up for Floridas Organ and Tissue Registry.
