The Harris Radiation Therapy Center is investing in improved technology to better serve their patients. With the purchase of the SOMATOM Definition AS, a state-of-the-art CT scanner, clinical outcomes for radiation patients will be maximized.
Superior image quality is necessary when treating patients with radiation. With the use of the SOMATOM Definition AS, a CT system that is specific to support radiation oncology, the images are high-definition and show the smallest of details. It has high-speed acquisition, which detects motion and prevents flawed imaging from the patients breathing or movement. The SOMATOM Definition AS also has a wider bore for better imaging and performs low-dose lung CT screenings, which will fulfill a need in the community. Virtually fitted for any radiation therapy patient, the SOMATOM Definition AS is an immense advancement in cancer care technology.
At Gordon Hospital, we constantly evaluate the quality of our care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction, said Lanell Jacobs, director of oncology. Advancing our technology is just one of the ways we can continuously improve our standards.
The Harris Radiation Center will also celebrate its fifth anniversary this November.
