Gordon Hospital, a member of Adventist Health System, is pleased to announce that Rachel Sawyer, PA, is joining Gordon Urgent Care.
Sawyer graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in biological science and later graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis with a Master of Medical Science. In addition to her education, Sawyer is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants.
Sawyer has global experience in treating patients in need by participating in the Global Missions Health Conference and the Summer Medical Missions in Honduras. At the conference, she learned about the needs of international healthcare and how to run a successful short-term mission trip. Sawyer then traveled to Honduras for two weeks to work in clinics in the rural mountain villages where she triaged patients, translated for doctors, ran the pharmacy, and assisted doctors in treating patients.
