AdventHealth Palm Coast recently hosted a meet-and-greet to introduce the accomplished surgeons shaping the future of medicine in Flagler County, as reported by Danielle Anderson of Flagler News Weekly.
Among the highlights was the spotlight on robotic surgery, led by experts like Dr. Abubaker Ali, a world-class general surgeon with over 1,300 robotic procedures to his name.
Attendees also met cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Patrick Mangonon and learned about his exciting vision: performing cardiothoracic robotic surgery locally by 2026.
“That’s a vision that I have; obviously something close to my heart,” Mangonon told Anderson.
AdventHealth’s growth mindset aligns with efforts by the City of Palm Coast to create a medical hub and center of excellence via partnerships with Flagler Schools and area institutions such as Daytona State College, the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University. These collaborations provide training opportunities for health care students, fostering a pipeline of skilled professionals committed to serving Flagler County.
“We’re no longer just a small community hospital,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, President and CEO of AdventHealth Palm Coast and market CEO for Flagler/St. Johns in the East Florida Division. “With world-class expertise and state-of-the-art technology, we’re becoming a center of excellence for robotic-assisted surgery.”
