We are proud to announce that Emily Chandler, a Nurse Assistant (Patient Care Technician) on our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), has been honored with the prestigious Sunflower Award. This award recognizes healthcare professionals who demonstrate extraordinary compassion and dedication to patient care.
Emily Chandler's recent act of kindness exemplifies the spirit of the Sunflower Award. On Christmas Day, Emily learned that a patient being discharged from the hospital did not have a ride home. Knowing the importance of being with family during the holidays, Emily offered to drive the patient home herself, as she was familiar with the patient's residence and it was on her way. This selfless gesture ensured that the patient could spend Christmas with their loved ones.
Emily's actions reflect the core values of our healthcare institution, where patient-centered care and empathy are paramount. Her dedication to going above and beyond for our patients is truly inspiring and serves as a model for all healthcare professionals.
The Sunflower Award is given to team members who consistently demonstrate excellence in clinical care and a deep commitment to the emotional and physical well-being of patients. Emily Chandler's compassionate act on Christmas Day is a testament to her character and dedication to her role as a Nurse Assistant (PCT). Please join us in congratulating Emily Chandler on this well-deserved recognition.
