AdventHealth is pleased to announce Edward Pelote as the new chief operating officer (COO) for AdventHealth Gordon. With a commitment to operational excellence, strategic growth and service line innovation, Pelote brings over a decade of health care leadership to his new role.
Pelote joined AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray as executive director of operations in March 2024. In this role, he served as a key partner to the executive team, leading critical projects and overseeing essential departments such as Nutritional Services, Radiology and the Sleep Lab. He was instrumental in strategic planning efforts, enhancing scorecard performance and ensuring efficient, high-quality care for the communities AdventHealth serves. His leadership is marked by a focus on holistic, patient-centered care, reflective of AdventHealth’s mission and values.
"We are thrilled to have Edward take on the role of chief operating officer for AdventHealth Gordon," said Chris Self, president and CEO of AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray. "His expertise and leadership have already made a significant impact in operational improvements and service excellence."
Prior to joining the organization, he served as director of service line development at Loma Linda University Health, where he led several major initiatives in adult hospital operations. His projects included overseeing operations for the Neuropathic Therapy Center and Adult Day Health Center, developing high-impact service line programs and managing large, interdisciplinary teams. Notably, Pelote successfully transformed the stroke center into a comprehensive stroke center, an awarded designation by the Joint Commission.
In addition to his health care experience, Pelote is a graduate of the University of Redlands, where he earned his MBA, and Oakwood University, where he received a BBA in Healthcare Administration. He is also a recent fellow of the Advisory Board’s prestigious fellowship program, further underscoring his commitment to professional growth and excellence.
Pelote is an active volunteer, dedicating his time as a board member for Simpli Service Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on supporting underserved communities, and serving as a youth mentor. His passion for service align with AdventHealth’s dedication to building strong, healthy communities.
As chief operating officer, Pelote will lead operational and strategic initiatives for AdventHealth Gordon, with a focus on enhancing patient care, driving quality improvement and continuing the organization’s mission to provide whole-person care.
