Gordon Hospital, a member of Adventist Health System, is pleased to announce that Joe Joyave, MD, will join the administrative team as co-chief medical officer of the hospital and chief medical officer of Gordon Physicians Group.
In his new position, Dr. Joyave will lead the clinical initiatives for Gordon Hospital along with Dr. Max Parrott, his co-chief medical officer. He will provide administrative leadership to the hospital-owned clinics and employed physicians. Dr. Joyave will also give administrative support to the hospitalist program.
Dr. Joyave is an excellent addition to our administrative team, said Pete Weber, president and CEO of Gordon Hospital. His extensive leadership and pediatric experience will allow him to have great success in his new role with the hospital.
Dr. Joyave has been an active pediatrician in Calhoun since 1997. He has been involved in the Gordon community for years through his pediatric practice, All Gods Children.
I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the Author of Life in this position at Gordon Hospital, said Dr. Joyave. I am praying that I represent Him well, and I am excited about the magnitude of the task at hand.
Dr. Joyave is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of South Alabama. He also completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of South Alabama where he became chief of residents.
Residing in Calhoun, Dr. Joyave and his wife Sharon have four children: Joseph, Adam, Sara, and Anna. His grandchildren are Grace, Ruth, Jack, and Stella. His daughters-in-law are Sarah and Coley and his son-in-law is Vince. As a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Dr. Joyave is a Sunday school teacher and has served as deacon. Outside of his profession, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with family.
