DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 4, 2023 -- AdventHealth Daytona Beach has named Dr. David Sinclair as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective May 21.
Sinclair has 25 years of clinical experience as a practicing physician, including 20 years in progressive leadership roles – nearly half of which has been in chief clinical roles for large acute care systems.
“I am extremely grateful to have a leader of Dr. Sinclair’s talents and expertise join our leadership team,” said David Weis, president/CEO for AdventHealth Daytona Beach. “With his extensive experience and deep understanding of health care, he will help AdventHealth Daytona Beach continue to provide the highest quality care for our patients and improve the health of our community.”
Since 2020, Sinclair has served as the CMO at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs where he led the medical staff, helped launch a local Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, and oversaw the addition and expansion of numerous clinical programs.
Sinclair has served as the Patient Safety Officer for AdventHealth Central Florida Division – South since January 2022, leading the successful execution of the hospital-wide Quality Assurance Performance Improvement program and worked closely with Quality Outcomes, Risk Management, and Safe and High Reliability teams to ensure maintenance of an effective Quality Management System.
“AdventHealth Daytona Beach has a strong reputation for providing high-quality care and I am honored to join the team,” Sinclair said. “My passion for improving patient outcomes and advancing health care aligns perfectly with AdventHealth's commitment to whole-person care. I look forward to working with the talented staff and physicians to improve the health and well-being of our patients and community."
A 362-bed facility, AdventHealth Daytona Beach has received national recognition for clinical excellence from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is among the few hospitals in the nation to receive 22 consecutive “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades for patient safety. AdventHealth is excited to be actively expanding outpatient services with a new 3-floor ambulatory surgery center and medical office building currently under construction in partnership with community physicians. The $45.7 million building is slated to open in January 2024.
Sinclair fills the role that was previously held by Dr. Joe Smith.
Sinclair earned certification in health care quality and management by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He is also Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified.
