AdventHealth has named David Sinclair, MD, president and CEO for AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
In this role, Dr. Sinclair will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development and growth of AdventHealth Daytona Beach, a 362-bed facility that is undergoing a major expansion project that will add over 100 new inpatient beds, four new surgical suites and more than 240,000 square feet to the facility.
He will assume leadership March 10 and will report to David Weis, president and CEO for AdventHealth operations in east Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties.
"We are so fortunate to have Dr. Sinclair at AdventHealth Daytona Beach," Weis said. "Dr. Sinclair is a relationship-builder and his deep knowledge and passion for taking care of our team and enhancing the access to quality care will serve our community well as he steps into this new role."
Dr. Sinclair joined the organization in February 2020, serving in a variety of clinical leadership roles, including as patient safety officer for the Central Florida Division and chief medical officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs.
Since 2023, Dr. Sinclair has served as chief medical officer at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, where he achieved significant milestones, including a 29% reduction in length of stay from 2023 through 2024 and an increase in physician engagement.
Under Dr. Sinclair's leadership, AdventHealth Daytona Beach received AdventHealth Clinical's Triumph Award in 2024, which is given to hospitals that achieve four- or five-star ratings from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an "A" rating from The Leapfrog Group in patient safety and top quartile mortality metrics.
Before joining AdventHealth, Dr. Sinclair held various leadership roles at the University of Miami Health System, where he served as chief patient safety and quality officer and associate chief medical officer.
"AdventHealth Daytona Beach is a beacon in our community and is known for providing high-quality, whole-person care," Sinclair said. "As a physician, I'm proud to work for an organization that is committed to clinical excellence, and I look forward to building on the incredible foundation that's been built over the years and collaborating with leaders and care teams to extend our mission to our patients and community."
Dr. Sinclair graduated from medical school at McGill University and earned his MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and also earned certification in health care quality and management by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
When he's not spending time with family, Dr. Sinclair delights in staying active and playing the bass guitar.
