Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group have recognized AdventHealth as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024. The recognition is based on methodology that included a survey of over 220,000 individuals and included representation from employees of over 1.5 million companies in America.
“This recognition is a result of the strategic work led by our DEI team in partnership with all leaders across our system,” said Terry Shaw, President and CEO for AdventHealth. “At AdventHealth, we believe that each person is a child of God with infinite value. Our differences are what make us stronger and support our ability to deliver our mission in the diverse communities we serve.”
The award’s five-part evaluation process included an examination of publicly available data, interviews with HR professionals, and an anonymous online survey conducted among a diverse group of employees at companies in the U.S.
“Having a diverse, inclusive workforce at AdventHealth means all our team members have a chance to thrive,” said Jessica Brazier, chief DEI officer for AdventHealth. “It’s also key to our advancement of equity in clinical access, outcomes and experiences for our patients.”
A promise to foster an inclusive environment is one of AdventHealth’s commitments to team members as part of its team member pledge, which promises to care for them mentally, physically and spiritually.
“Seeing team members as whole individuals with unique needs, backgrounds and experiences frames our culture of caring,” said Olesea Azevedo, chief administrative officer for AdventHealth. “We strive every day to cultivate an environment in which we can live up to that promise and provide an inclusive network of opportunity for all.”
In addition to Newsweek’s recognition, AdventHealth has earned other accolades for its team member culture. Forbes has recognized AdventHealth as one of America's Best Employers by State and Best Employers for Veterans, as well as Becker’s 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare.
