Murtaza Syed, MD, is double-board certified in General Adult and Pediatric Psychiatry and has been part of AdventHealth Medical Group’s psychiatry team in Winter Park since 2017. He currently also serves as a medical director there. He has spent more than 20 years as a psychiatrist in various outpatient clinics, hospitals, emergency centers, and community health centers.
Dr. Syed completed his residency training at West Virginia University School of Medicine before undertaking a prestigious fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC.
Dr. Syed treats patients of all ages and specializes in managing depression, adjustment disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, postpartum depression, somatization disorder, autism, and the complex psychiatric aspects of various medical illnesses. He integrates medication management with psychotherapy to provide comprehensive care for his patients.
He is also actively involved in teaching medical students during their rotations in the Department of Psychiatry.
