Melanie Knight, BSN, CNOR, CRNFA, APRN, FNP-C, CGRA

Melanie Knight, BSN, CNOR, CRNFA, APRN, FNP-C, CGRA, is an experienced Nurse Practitioner in the High-Risk Oncology Clinic, specializing in the care of individuals with hereditary cancer risks. She is passionate about supporting women with a personal and family history of breast, ovarian, colon, or pancreatic cancer, as well as men with a personal or family history of breast, prostate, colon, or pancreatic cancer. She provides comprehensive consultations that include guidance on genetic testing when appropriate.

Melanie is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and holds a Certified Genetic Risk Assessment (CGRA) credential through the City of Hope and the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri.

Prior to her current role, Melanie spent 18 years in surgical nursing, assisting with procedures ranging from cosmetic augmentations and reductions to complex breast cancer surgeries, including mastectomies and breast reconstructions. She holds additional certifications in perioperative and first assist roles (CNOR and CRNFA), and remains committed to professional growth through ongoing education and certification.

Melanie is dedicated to patient education, helping individuals understand their genetic risk and empowering them with strategies to reduce their chances of developing cancer. Her calm and thorough approach helps reduce anxiety, and she coordinates appropriate imaging and follow-up care as needed.

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys life on the family farm, sewing, and spending time with loved ones.
