Biography: Paola Macias, PA-C, recently graduated from Florida State University College of Medicine, where she earned an MS in Physician Assistant Practice. Before her new role, she served in clinical rotation for Family Medicine at AdventHealth Medical Group at Tuscawilla, at Internal Medicine Orlando Regional Medical Center, and in Family and Geriatrics Medicine at IAM Healthy in Apopka. As a nurse assistant at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, she provided direct and indirect patient care in a 30-bed medical and surgical unit. Fluent in Spanish and English, Paola’s experience helps her respect patients’ cultural beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, and personal preferences.
“By acknowledging their unique situations,” she says, “my patients will have the knowledge and skills to feel empowered in their health care.” Paola sees patients 12 years and older.
