Mesha-Gay Brown, MD

Mesha Gay Brown, MD, is a board-certified epileptologist and an expert in the evaluation and treatment of patients with seizures and epilepsy. Dr. Brown felt an early calling to the field of health care as someone who required compassionate care as a child with severe asthma. She is passionate about whole-person care and offers comprehensive treatment options for patients, from their first seizure and beyond.

Dr. Brown is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society and the Mortar Board Honor Society. She’s also a Jason Wilkes Memorial Biology Award and Eric C. Raps Memorial Prize recipient. She belongs to the American Academy of Neurology, the American Epilepsy Society, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and the Center for Neuroscience, among other professional organizations.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Brown enjoys travel, yoga, mindfulness, audiobooks and spending time with her family.

Dr. Brown is passionate about her individualized approach to patient care and values patients actively participating in their clinical care. She has extensive experience in the management of patients with epilepsy, including medication management, epilepsy surgery, surgical devices such as the vagus nerve stimulator (VNS), responsive neurostimulation (RNS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS), as well as clinical trials. She’s committed to providing optimal care to the epilepsy community and to continuous growth utilizing the most current evidence-based practices.
