Biography

Melissa Gerdes, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician. After earning her medical degree from Loyola University, Dr. Gerdes completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler, achieving the rank of Chief Resident and serving as an associate professor. She has received numerous honors, including the Texas Academy of Family Physicians Philanthropist of the Year award, the Young Physician Achievement Award from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and the Award for Innovation in Healthcare from Trinity Clinic. Dr. Gerdes is the founder and past chair of the Whitehouse Community Health Clinic, past president of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and completed the Carol Emmott Fellowship program — focused on accelerating the impact of women leaders in health care. A highly experienced clinician, Dr. Gerdes is committed to delivering comprehensive, personalized care to the whole family.
