Biography

Beth Gibbons, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon who treats patients ages 18 and older. She works with her patients who experience the following conditions: lumbar and cervical disc herniation, lumbar stenosis, lumbar and cervical radiculopathy, cervical myelopathy, back pain, brain tumors, traumatic spine fractures, degenerative disc disease, brain metastases, and traumatic brain injuries. When necessary, Dr. Gibbons performs these procedures: lumbar and cervical microdiscectomy, cervical discectomy and fusion, cervical disc replacement, lumbar laminectomy, craniotomy, lumbar and cervical fusion, and minimally invasive lumbar fusion. Dr. Gibbons’ main desire is to help people feel better to do the things they enjoy and remove any limitations to those things.

Dr. Gibbons earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical school and her undergraduate degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan. She completed a preliminary surgical internship in surgery at the University of Vermont and also a categorical internship in general surgery. Dr. Gibbons continued at the University of Vermont for her residency. She belongs to many organizations including Neurosurgery Liaison to Trauma Committee, American Board of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Gibbons main priority is to help people feel better and reduce their pain or dysfunction. She wants to educate her patients on their options. Then, discuss their goals and formulate a plan to achieve those goals in the best possible way. Dr. Gibbons knows that communication with her patients is very important to help them understand all aspects of their care and their treatment options.
